Portfolio Updates
The Bright Portfolios Investment Committee meets quarterly to discuss current portfolio allocations and propose changes. We recently decided to implement the following changes to our portfolios.
Remove Shelton International (SISEX, SISLX) from our models due to a change in manager. Andy Manton was the portfolio manager for this fund, and he recently left Shelton for another role. He had a solid track record and managed the fund according to biblical principles. We’ve determined it’s unlikely the new fund manager will continue managing the fund using biblical principles, and have therefore decided to sell.
Add Inspire International ETF (WWJD) to our models to replace SISEX/SISLX. The Inspire International ETF is coming up on it’s three-year anniversary and has performed well against the ACWI ex-US benchmark. We view it as a good international replacement with a lower internal expense ratio than the SISEX/SISLX.
Add Invesco Diversified Commodities ETF (PDBC) to our models. This ETF gives us exposure to a broad basket of commodities such as energy, precious metals, industrial metals and agricultural. We allocated a small portion of funds to this ETF from our Schwab Intermediate Term Treasuries ETF (SCHR).
